Conlang
Conlanging is hobby of constructing languages. I’ve been conlanging since middle school, and am marginally involved in the broader conlanging community and the Language Creation Society. I do it ’cause I enjoy it, and don’t much feel the need to justify it further than that, in case you’re curious.
For all that I’ve theoretically been conlanging for half my life, I don’t have much to show for it: Most of that effort has been spending being a perfectionist on my One True Language, tükwäi. I’m working on changing that. This page catalogues my conlanging efforts and presents any finished products.
saa nglok – ongoing; started summer, 2010
Design Goals: saa nglok was conceived as a conlanging response to the fieldwork I was doing on Akan (of Ghana; also called Twi or Fante or both), though it also ended up as an homage to Cantonese, my now-nearly-forgotten childhood second language. It is primarily an ANADEWing of serial verb constructions, but also includes some diachronic morphosyntax ideas gleaned from Akan and some work with spatialization.
